In his State of the State address, Governor Sisolak recapped the steps his administration will take to modernize and advance our state’s infrastructure, high-speed internet connectivity, and airports - while growing our economy in the process.

Nevada will leverage federal funds to invest:

●       $4 billion to upgrade roads, bridges, and water systems;

●       Over $8 million to prevent wildfires.

●       Additionally, the Sisolak Administration will use federal funds to make substantive improvements to Nevada’s airports and public transportation systems.

Nevada will also invest an additional $500 million for new broadband infrastructure to make sure every Nevadan has reliable access to high-speed internet;

Strong infrastructure supports a strong economy, and Governor Sisolak has already shown national leadership to ensure Nevada’s roads and bridges are the best in the nation. In the months ahead, the Governor will continue taking steps to improve our state’s infrastructure:

●       In addition to the investments the governor mentioned during his State of the State address, the federal bipartisan infrastructure law also provides Nevada with $12 million to upgrade its cybersecurity infrastructure, over $400 million to improve water systems, and nearly $40 million to expand electric vehicle charging stations. The package is expected to create approximately 140,000 jobs in Nevada.

●       Last year, Governor Sisolak and the state Legislature working with the State Treasurer funded Nevada’s State Infrastructure Bank for the first time ever, providing it with $75 million to improve Nevada’s housing, schools, and overall infrastructure.

Governor Sisolak will continue finding innovative, smart ways to invest in our infrastructure and improve quality of life for all Nevadans.
