White Pine Food Bank

Project Overview

The mission of the White Pine County Food Bank is "to provide food to those in need".  Currently the food bank is open two days a week.  Population served includes local residents and transients.  The key strategies include making sure than no one goes hungry and to provide emotional support.  An expansion of the food bank will mitigate Covid issues and allow for the purchase of a new cooler to provide more nutritious food such as meat, dairy and fresh fruits/vegetables.  The project will also include the purchase of healthy these food items.  Performance is measured by the number of families/individuals served each week and number of food requests received by the Sheriff's office.
