Community Services Agency
Project Overview
The proposed workforce program will provide work experience for 35 at-risk, in-school youth ages 16-18 in the Washoe County School District. The program will enable at-risk youth to engage in productive work, build their skills and contribute to their community, while keeping them in school as the work experiences will occur after school or during the weekend. Work experiences will be provided by a variety of established employer partnerships in the community.
Participants will be assessed and provided case management throughout the program based on individual needs and to ensure the ability to succeed in the program. These youth are interested in and committed to reconnecting with work, school, and their community. They have enormous untapped talent. They simply need help getting back on the path to opportunity, and assistance overcoming the particular obstacles that many of them face.
