Carson City Senior Citizens Center
Project Overview
CCSCC’s proposed project is to continue service of its Senior Nutrition program (Congregate and Meals on Wheels) during a closure. We learned several weeks ago that our kitchen floor is in a critical failure state and needs immediate correction. To repair the floor, the kitchen must close for a period of two to three months. To feed seniors during this time, we will contract with a provider to prepare the meals and we will serve/deliver the meals. The contracted cost per meal $6.99 exceeds our budgeted rate of $6.34. We are seeking funding to fund the cost difference ($0.65/per meal). The population served is seniors age 60 and over and for Meals on Wheels, be assessed to be homebound due to a medical condition, geographic isolation or due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This project will continue service, feeding seniors at risk of going hungry.
